Chanel Brenner is the winner of the 2021 Press 53 Award for Poetry for Smile or Else. She is the author of Vanilla Milk: a memoir told in poems. Her work has appeared in HerStry, Modern Loss, The Good Men Project, Literary Mama, Poet Lore, Rattle, Salamander and others.
Susan Hayden
A multigenre writer, Susan Hayden’s work has appeared in Los Angeles in The 1970s (Rare Bird Lit); The Black Body (Seven Stories Press); I Might Be The Person You Are Talking To (Padua Playwrights Press) and elsewhere.
She’s the creator/producer of Library Girl, named Best Local Literary Series in The Argonaut’s Best of the Westside: Editor’s Picks.
In 2015, Hayden received the Bruria Finkel/Artist In The Community Award for her “significant contributions to the energetic discourse within Santa Monica’s arts community.”
At present, she is working on a hybrid memoir. The proud mother of Mason Summit, she lives in Sunset Park with her husband, music journalist Steve Hochman.
